Are they expecting their target candidates to pore over long, boring content that has hardly any paragraph breaks to find little nuggets of information that might excite them?

“Ooh look, this company use Lotus Notes as their email system. That’s brilliant! I need to brush up on that because I haven’t used it in years.”
